Dan McColley from the Habitat for Humanity
218-556-2469
Flatirons Habitat for Humanity builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. We partner with local families, volunteers, and community organizations to make the dream of homeownership possible for those who could not otherwise afford it. By bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope, we address one of the region’s most pressing needs—safe, affordable housing that creates a foundation for opportunity.
This year, we’ve launched BoulderMOD, Colorado’s first nonprofit modular home factory, which is already transforming how affordable housing is built. With nine homes completed and 13 more underway, families are moving into permanently affordable homes that will serve our community for generations. Our mission goes beyond construction—it’s about changing systems, inspiring action, and ensuring that every family has the chance to thrive in a stable home. Together, we are proving that affordable homeownership is possible right here in our community.
Dan McColley, Ed.D., Executive Director of Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, has dedicated his career to strengthening nonprofit organizations and expanding affordable housing opportunities. Since stepping into leadership at Flatirons Habitat in 2024, he has guided major initiatives such as BoulderMOD, the Ponderosa Community redevelopment, and new homeownership developments in Boulder and Broomfield. Dan is passionate about building partnerships across sectors and believes deeply that lasting community transformation starts with a safe, stable place to call home.

The #1 mistake we make when it comes to health is looking for quick fixes. Medications, supplements, and endless therapies often mask symptoms, but they don’t get to the root cause. The truth is your brain is the ultimate healer. When we give it space to reset, it naturally restores calm, clarity, resilience, and even joy.

Rotary Clubs in District 5450 generously support the Rocky Mountain Rotary Youth Leadership Awards but many Club members don't have an understanding of how the programs actually work. We are looking for an opportunity to present to Rotary Clubs and to lead an informal overview/discussion of the RM RYLA programs. Mike is a co-Chair for one of this year’s Young RYLA conferences and Terry and Jim both serve on the RM RYLA Board. We are able to discuss both RM RYLA offerings (RYLA, Young RYLA) but we know most about Young RYLA.
• the long history of RYLA • multi-year leadership development tracks • specific roles that make RYLA work • sample activities and the leadership skills each one targets • the huge impact the programs have had • how you can help ◦ Fund awards ◦ Select worthy students ◦ Be a Senior Counselor Here is a link to the official RM RYLA website: https://rockymountainryla.org Mike Liebman
